Honeywell ScanPal EDA52 mobile computer
The Honeywell ScanPal EDA52 is an enterprise-class mobile computer that provides a secure, stable connection between front-line workers and the company's information systems. It is intended for applications in retail, transport and logistics, manufacturing, healthcare and public services.
The EDA52 is the next generation in the ScanPal series, equipped with a 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor and full connectivity: NFC, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1 and 4G LTE. The 5.5 inch touchscreen with Gorilla Glass and the ergonomic industrial design considerably improve comfort in use. Light and slim, the device can be operated one-handed and carried in a pocket throughout the shift.
Fast scanning, even on damaged codes
The EDA52 integrates the new enterprise-grade Honeywell S0703 scan engine, which reads 1D and 2D barcodes quickly, including damaged or incomplete ones. The 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus supports high-resolution photo documentation, while the 5-megapixel front camera enables video calls.
Rugged build for intensive use
With a rugged housing and IP67 protection, the EDA52 works in difficult operating and environmental conditions. It withstands repeated drops from 1.3 m onto concrete per MIL-STD 810G (1.5 m with the rubber protective boot) and 550 tumbles from 0.5 m. The operating temperature range is -20 °C to +50 °C.
Battery life for a full shift
The 4,500 mAh lithium-ion battery provides over 12 hours of continuous use. It is removable, can be swapped quickly between shifts and supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging, with a charge time under 3.5 hours.
Flexible connectivity
The WWAN version accepts a nano SIM and an eSIM at the same time. The eSIM simplifies managing subscriptions with different mobile operators and allows switching between operators without changing physical cards. The device also offers simultaneous GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou reception.
Upgradable Android and central management
The EDA52 runs Android 11, with the option to upgrade to Android 13, which reduces maintenance problems and ensures long-term support. The device is Android Enterprise Recommended (AER) validated — Google's programme that helps companies select, deploy and securely manage Android devices in business environments.
RFID reading and compatibility with existing accessories
The EDA52 can be paired with the Honeywell IH25 and IH40 RFID readers, for fast collection of large volumes of RFID data in applications such as stocktaking in retail and in the warehouse. For customers already using Honeywell devices, the EDA52 is compatible with existing accessories — including the ScanPal EDA51 single charging dock, by adding an adapter — which reduces the total cost of ownership.
